Can One Company Transform Marketing in Africa?

The Story Behind the Mission

This site, Marketing in Africa, is for your business acceleration. Here is the place where you discover quantum leaps for your business.

About 7 years ago, I had developed my business to the point where I had a LOT of free time – so I started to study marketing.

I was led down a pathway of studies which looks something like the following—notice the progression of material I learned.

Focus on book marketing

Focus on multiple streams of income

Focus on strategic marketing

Focus on sales

Focus on systematic company growth

Focus on On-line business building

Focus on speed learning

Focus on Internet Business

Focus on Internet and SEO

Focus on SEO and Software

Focus on Internet Opportunity

Down that path, I wasn’t just learning. It had always been my desire to add value where I could.

But what could I add to guys of such prominence and success like these?

My heart

I began to think, “If I start to consult with people that really need my help, how much of my time would it take to help one business?”

The answer: a month or more. In the very least, I would have to interview them and write a comprehensive, step-by-step action plan for them.

But here came the problem. I didn’t think that sitting at my computer generating reports week after week was very appealing.

AND … I knew that to help people who really needed my help probably meant they couldn’t afford to pay me what I would require to support my family and live the life that I came to expect.

Then the solution came to me!

The progression went like this:

What if I at least wrote down all the possible best questions that could be asked?
Then … what if I divided those questions into logical categories?
Then … what if I wrote down a summary of the reasons why those questions were worth answering—for each category (I came up with 36 separate categories)?
Then … what if I wrote answers to the questions I asked, but varied the answers according to the individual competence of each unique business?
Then … what if I could program all the questions and answers into software?

Had anyone done this before? I couldn’t find any trace of it in all my conversations with my guru mentors or my MBA professors.

I was living in Japan at the time and I presented my ideas to some local businessmen. Some were interested, but most could not see the value in it. It was time to move on.

My wife and I began a search for a new home for our family and … we settled on Africa. Kenya specifically. You see, my grandfather had been a pioneer missionary to Southern Africa many years ago. Here’s a picture of him, shortly after he was called in to kill a lion that had been terrorizing some local villagers.

And, when I was about 10 years old, my family moved to Africa for several years and I came to love Africa in many ways.

To the present: we landed in Kenya in 2007 and settled in to set up a business acceleration consultancy.

This is where you come in.

At this moment in time, you can think to your business and say, “If only I could solve this problem (and you have that specific problem in your mind right now), then my business could accelerate past my competitors.”
