About 7 years ago, I had developed my business to the point where I had a LOT of free time – so I started to study marketing.
I was led down a pathway of studies which looks something like the following—notice the progression of material I learned.
Down that path, I wasn’t just learning. It had always been my desire to add value where I could.
But what could I add to guys of such prominence and success like these? My heart
The answer: a month or more. In the very least, I would have to interview them and write a comprehensive, step-by-step action plan for them. But here came the problem. I didn’t think that sitting at my computer generating reports week after week was very appealing. AND … I knew that to help people who really needed my help probably meant they couldn’t afford to pay me what I would require to support my family and live the life that I came to expect. Then the solution came to me!
The progression went like this:
Had anyone done this before? I couldn’t find any trace of it in all my conversations with my guru mentors or my MBA professors.
I was living in Japan at the time and I presented my ideas to some local businessmen. Some were interested, but most could not see the value in it. It was time to move on.
My wife and I began a search for a new home for our family and … we settled on Africa. Kenya specifically. You see, my grandfather had been a pioneer missionary to Southern Africa many years ago. Here’s a picture of him, shortly after he was called in to kill a lion that had been terrorizing some local villagers.
![]() And, when I was about 10 years old, my family moved to Africa for several years and I came to love Africa in many ways.
To the present: we landed in Kenya in 2007 and settled in to set up a business acceleration consultancy.
This is where you come in.
At this moment in time, you can think to your business and say, “If only I could solve this problem (and you have that specific problem in your mind right now), then my business could accelerate past my competitors.”
